Oh brave one, oh noble one,

your daring actions do amaze me.

With risky words you defend a doomed dame,

and deny thy father's decree.

 

Oh courageous one, oh honorable one,

your heroics do dumbfound me.

With courteous words you commend the uncommendable,

made so by thy father's covenant,

 

and condemn yourself for the sake of a maltreated maiden.

 

This is a poem that I wrote for one of the MANY end of the year projects I had for english.
I don't think actually makes any sense, I just wanted to turn something in.
I wrote this poem in response to the actions of a character named Haemon from the play "Antigone"
He defends the woman he loves even though his father is against her. This is what the poem is about.
it's not really free verse but I didn't know how to catergorize it...
this poem is pretty much bull-crap, enjoy!

This is really good. I like your choice of vocabulary and this is a story that I find I can relate to as well. You should write more in this style. It's very good. :)
